Our educational farm: farm knowledge and flavours
The Agriturismo San Basilio is located within our farm of the same name which is still family-run even after all these years. We have about 20 hectares of land that extends to the Mediterranean, including olive groves, vineyards and fields planted with vegetables and orchards. At our educational farm and dairy, we also breed cattle, sheep, goats and farmyard animals.
Our guests, both young and old, can take part in making some of the typical products of the farm with us: you can take part in the production of cheese, work with our team in the collection of fruit and vegetables or assist with beekeeping. A visit to our educational farm and dairy is a unique experience and the best way to get in touch with nature, discovering the ancient agricultural traditions handed down with passion and sacrifice by our grandparents.
Activities on the farm
Our educational farm and dairy, located just a few kilometres from the city of Salento, gives you the chance to take part in many activities. The main ones are:
- olive harvest and their transformation into oil;
- grape harvesting;
- milking and transforming milk into cheese;
- harvesting and preparing vegetables;
- bread, pasta and cake making;
- sausage making.

We regularly organise educational days at the farm and dairy including delicious meals to taste the products we make together.
